Gov. Davis said jobs 'most immediate priority' in State of the State Address.

Governor Davis gave his State of the State Address, and said jobs would be his "most immediate priority," and that he would like to create 500,000 new jobs over the next 4 years.

"I'm proposing a new California Jobs Plan that will put more Californians to work - not in years, but in weeks," he said.

Davis said his "budget will erase the $35-billion shortfall," and he would "not sign a budget without substantial structural reform."
